Will video games replace epic literature as the way we tell stories?

Many argue that movies replaced books as a medium for epic tales just as books replaced the oral traditions of ancient times. Movies such as star wars replaced the written legends of Beowulf and the odyssey could our generations epic tales be told by the medium of games such as dragon age assassins creed and mass effectWill video games replace epic literature as the way we tell stories?
Been in a Barnes%26amp;Noble lately? Movies have hardly killed literature and I don't see video games replacing it either. Video games are certainly becoming more popular and main stream and a really good medium for telling a story. But actually reading a book is still appealing for many people and I think it always will be. There is room for all mediums of storytelling. Will video games replace epic literature as the way we tell stories?
Most likely not. Movies haven't replaced books, at least not entirely, and I don't feel that video games will either. All three of those forms of media make experiencing the same tale different. It's not like the shift from oral storytelling to written storytelling where the latter improves on the former in every way. Will video games replace epic literature as the way we tell stories?
Probably not. I don't think movies in any way have replaced books either. But I do think games are being taken more seriously as an artistic medium and attracting a much wider audience. With technology improving I think the demand for plot heavy games will only increase.
