But said creature is in hibernation for ages and would be super dangerous to wake up since they are ultra-powerful and not on the 'good' side or the 'bad' side. Thus, it's a huge risk but the hero's only lead and he has to get the sword as it is his last hope to save the world. The only problem is that I can't make up my mind. I was thinking to make it an iconic type of dragon slightly like Smaug from The Hobbit by J. R. R. Tolkien, you know - like Tolkien's dragons. But that would be too typical so a griffin came to mind. Now I am torn as I want to use both of them but can't. What do you think? Which one should I choose: A dragon or a griffin?
Thanks a million in advance!!Dragon or Griffin: Which creature should I use for my story?
I think griffin. Although it's stupid, it makes much more sense for a griffin to be in hibernation than a dragon. dragons are technically reptiles, right? And besides, dragons have been present in so many books already.Dragon or Griffin: Which creature should I use for my story?
I'd say Griffin, Dragon seems too cliche.
As for a name maybe something like... Charles, William, Harold -- something old fashioned sounding.Dragon or Griffin: Which creature should I use for my story?
Griffin all the way. Much more Mystique and rarity
