Have the new gen of gamers killed Real games?

I have been playing games for around 25 years? and in that time i have played some amazing games.

Arcanum, Breath of fire 3, FF 7, Legend of the Dragoon, Resident Evil classics, and so many many more....

But there seems to have been some point in the last 5? 6? years were gaming has become what one can only call ' THE F*CK GOOD GAMES AND DISH OUT ENDLESS COPYS OF SHITE '

'Ahem' Im sorry to the younger gamers who are reading this and saying ' NOOOOOO i love my Call of duty Crap! and my same game over and over that cost me a small fortune for 1 hours of gameplay! '

And others will say ' Pffff this guy dont know what he is talking about there are still some good games ( Dragon age, Bio shock, Mass effect etc. )

YES number 2 is right there are good games still!....But how many? and do they come out often? or do you have to shift through a montain of crap to find them? if your an old skool gamer like me you would remeber when you went looking for a game you would spend hours choosing because there were so many good games going! but now you go into a store and you know what you will walk out with because there is nothing else there just crap.

Gamers today want FPS FPS FPS FPS dull, boring, same game over and over again, ITS TIME WE BRING BACK GOOD QUALITY GAMES! BRING BACK OLD SCHOOLHave the new gen of gamers killed Real games?
Yes this generation really has it's misses for the old school.

Need for speed lost it's customization, it's funnest element.

Resident Evil is now becoming more like a shooter than survival horror.

Goldeneye 007 will never see life outside an N64 cartridge because of legal issues.

Metal Gear Solid as we knew it is non-existent.

Final Fantasy games seem to lack spirit of past iterations.

Zelda's playability is marred by gimmicky motion controls.

GTA's fun element was thrown under the bus for realism.

Halo is still great but never changed enough to prevent burn out.

The best console Star Wars game is actually a last gen LEGO game.

Tony Hawk was killed due to market saturation and over complication.

Same thing happend to a promising Spider-man legacy.

They keep HD'ing the wrong games in old series and calling them classics.

It's sucha, such a sadness.

Oh and if your playing a game on your telephone you will never in a trillion years experience the game. You'll think you've experienced it but you'll have been cheated.
Producers are run by giants who don't care about quality. However take a look at Bethesda for example who quickly learns from mistakes and makes some of the best games available today! As for gameplay, the possibilities are nearly endless and the content is very rich so my faith is somewhat restored. Go buy Skyrim and Fallout :)Have the new gen of gamers killed Real games?
i agree in ways and arcanum was truly an epic game

i dont often like all remakes/sequels but arcanum 2 would be welcomed into my home

the current gen is unlikely to see anything of that revolutionary magnitude but something big must be in next gen
I know what you mean. I still have my nintendo 64. There will never be anything better than endless hours of Mario, Legend of Zelda, Boomer man, and Star FoxHave the new gen of gamers killed Real games?
I kinda get what you are saying because I picked up the Jak and Daxter HD collection yesterday and while I was playing it I thought to myself if this series would release today it probably wouldn't do well because its not a modern day military shooter. But this current gen of consoles also has a plus side to it and that is the arcade games like Bastion and Limbo those games can take chances because it cost so little to make it well compared to retail games. Also the reason I believe FPS are the main thing this gen because people want to play it safe since games cost so much more to make and its kinda sad.
