OK, I now have the legitimate belief that creatures like Hobbits, Elves, and Orcs are real and I have a backing for this. I just am wondering whether or not this makes sense.
Basically, I believe that they did exist but very prominent, obvious traits were wiped out by or during the Middle Ages by xenophobic humans (is xenophobia the proper term? correct me if I'm wrong), such as the pointed ears of Elves and Eladrin (Yes, I do also believe in them) or the skin of Orcs.
I can explain each one.
Elves: Elves may or may not have pointed ears, but they are intelligent but their most prominent skill is Hand-Eye coordination, making archery easy for them. That's where that idea started. Also, the ears may have been wiped out by xenophobic humans hundreds of years ago, or the females were tried as witches because of their skills and the ears were wiped out due to them being a maternal trait that shows through in both sexes but can only be passed down by the mother, so they may be a recessive trait that may start showing up again one day.
Eladrin: Very similar to the Elves, just taller and their main focus is general intelligence, memory, ability to multitask etc. Their fate was much the same as Elves.
Orcs: May or may not be like they've been described, but if they were like that (7 feet tall, dark skin, maybe grey or even green) they were wiped out or at least the traits were. It's possible that the Vikings were Orcs, but that's just a thought.
Halflings/Hobbits: They had little to hide, so they just slipped under the radar. Only thing that they have to show is their heighth, which means that short people could just be part-Hobbit.
Dwarves: Same as Hobbits. They were just a little bit taller, and they were quite strong, so they may have been miners as legends say.
Dragons and Dragonborn: They probably didn't exist, as we have no proof of such. I'm not going to try to fight this uphill battle.
And, about magic. It's possible that magic could've just been intelligence, meaning that Eladrin and Elves tend to be smarter than Men, but Men are more aggresive so they managed to defeat them.
So, does this make sense? Is it possible that it's true?Does this make sense to you?
Magical invisible flying unicorns are definitely real.Does this make sense to you?
No reason why your theory can not be correct considering skeletons have been uncovered of tribes of very tall individuals [giants?] and very small individuals [hobbits?]
